Player Profiles 2011-12.
Ben Abrahams - Due to tennis & various sport commitments, Ben only plays occasionally. A versatile player who is a tough tackling strong competitor. A good passer of the ball & uses it intelligently.
Joe Balkwill - Joe spent a couple of seasons at the Centre of Excellence and what he learnt stands out a mile. Naturally a wide midfielder with pace and great finishing. Plays in the centre of midfield for us, so we can get him on the ball and give him the opportunity to run the show for us going forward.
Joe Blackwell - A no nonsense tough tackling defender who always gives 100% commitment to the team. Gaining confidence to bring the ball out of defence and distribute to the midfield and forward players. Joe has a terrific sense of positioning and is the defensive rock of the team. A very good communicator on the pitch who offers encouragement to his team mates.
Ellis Burgess - A quality goalkeeper who shows great bravery coming off his line to deal with crosses. Ellis is very good at 1-2-1s with strikers and uses his feet to block, when required.
Jake Charlton - Great awareness and a superb first touch into space. Quick feet and probably the best dribbler in the squad with a bag of tricks and variety of turns at his disposal. A good finisher in front of goal.
Thomas Cox - A class defender with a good awareness of situations in the style of Bobby Moore. Looks up to play a pass when in possession. Reads the game well & makes good interceptions to win the ball. Has great pace over 5 yards to close down attackers and make last ditch tackles. Developing his game by taking the ball off our keeper and looking for a pass.
Dan Cunningham - Primarily a goal scoring wide midfielder with a great first touch, ability to turn and pace to burn. Demonstrates good awareness and sees the first time pass. Currently trains with the Exeter City Advanced Development Centre Squad.
Liam England - Liam is versatile and has played in every position other than goalkeeper, playing well in every position he has been asked play. Liam sees the first time pass & does well to keep possession for the team. Best position is as a holding midfielder, but has already added a couple of goals to his game at the start of this 2011-12 season.
Kyle Hartnell - A quality player with great vision who enjoys our passing style of game. Is versatile and plays a number of different roles in the team. Currently trains with the Exeter City Advanced Development Centre Squad.
Dan Hodges - A competitive player with a passion for football & winning. Dan has the best left foot in the squad, but is now more confident to use his right foot. Dan has demonstrated a good first touch into space. Looking to concentrate on the next job during games & play off his front foot.
Inaki Iriarte - A quality player with great pace, strength and tenacity. Plays the game at a high tempo and inspires the players around him. Has started his career with Stoke Hill being introduced in wide positions, but will get the opportunity to play in more central challenging positions. Currently trains with the Exeter City Advanced Development Centre Squad.
Harry Pollard - Harry is our Bryan Robson, Captain Fantastic. He works his socks off for the team as a defensive midfielder or Centre Back, allowing the wingers to get forward. Harry wins every tackle, and header, battles to regain possession & makes last ditch defensive tackles. A real team player and the driving force of the team. Plays for the Dorset Schools Representative team.
Jordan Sandford - A powerful goal scoring striker. Likes to pick the ball up deep and run at defenders. Strong tackler. Will be an even better player when he gets his shots away quicker in the box, before being closed down. Has not reached his potential yet, but developing all the time. Currently trains with the Exeter City Advanced Development Centre Squad.
Kieran Williams - A new player who joined us in February 2011. Kieran is a strong player who wins tackles and strikes the ball harder than any other player in the squad. Takes the penalties and corners. Will be an even better player when he masters how to weight his passes.
Harvey Young. - Has pace to burn as a wide midfielder or striker, but is often used in central midfield so he can get on the ball more. Harvey likes to get forward get to the line and cut the ball back to create scoring chances for his team mates. Harvey also has a great shot and will contribute plenty of goals. Currently trains with the Exeter City Advanced Development Centre Squad.
